Thank you for smoking!!!

Have you seen that movie?

The main character(Aaron Eckhart) is PR for the biggest tobacco companies that have research institute that wants to prove that smoking doesn't damage your health!!!

So he is actually a lobbyist for the company. So called PR!

I wont go so much into the content of the movie, its an amusing comedy. But i would rather argue the lobbying part.

As the character says, that's not a science or a skill that you can learn at university. Its a talent or maybe capability.

What he does is sharply observing the words that people use in the debate, and turns the facts against you. The purpose is not to persuade you that he is right, but to persuade everyone else that you are wrong, so "automatically" he is right.

Watch this example:(from the movie)
A: USA has the best government in the world!
B: who says that? and what makes the US government the best in the world?
A: what do you mean, everyone is saying that. Look how good we live.
B: best in what? what about making profits from braking trade deals with the 3rd world countries, or executing criminals etc etc/. we have good government, but definitely not the best.

walla!!! argument won! he managed to prove that A is wrong, not that B is right!

and i was trying to do the same with my friend Zuzka tonight, and it really works. You are able to corner the people if you are careful, ask the right questions, and turn the facts around. Thats what good PR's do. Being careful when they express themselves. And use all the "mistakes" that the other side makes.

As the main character says - "I am lobbiest and i am never wrong".

He is representing the tobacco companies that kill 1.200 people per day. He is the face of mass murderers. Like two JamboJets crash every day.

And what he says is - i am representing 55 Mill. people in US. They all have the liberty to chose, that is why the country is so great! We dont have the intention to kill those people, cause we would be killing a customer. Who wants to kill his customer??? We want them to live long and smoke our cigarettes, our product! As a matter a fact, now we invested additional 50 Mill$ in research to find cancer cure that noone can ever die from cancer!

How ridiculous argument, but its true, one at the time if you look at it like that.

what do you think? is it possible?

try it. its a lot of fun, and can be useful sometime. hopefully not in this guys way...:)

Wild imagination...:)

I am writing an article for one of the national newspapers about my recent trip in Portugal and Spain...I have been writing articles inspired by my travels in the last couple of years...

And the thing that i love the most about writing these articles is that you can escape with your wild imagination and put those thought on paper.

Here is a part of it...the Lisbon part...

And then, when the bus reached the top of the hill, slowly getting out from the traffic mess, we reached the Lisbon bridge, which is one of the most beautiful places on earth for me, having a flashback, going "back to the future". In that moment, the live colors in my eyes started to change in the typical brown-orange color of the past...just like in the movies about 15th-16th century. Passing the bridge, seeing parts of the old Lisbon, i started to imagine the big sails on the ships, that are arriving from across the ocean, thousands of people waiting for their love ones to return from the trips...To share with them the discoveries of new nations and civilizations, discoveries of new territories...Drawing together the map of the world, that in those times, they still believed that the world is flat. still feeling in the air, the enthusiasm of discovering the world, the old sea sailing tradition. To taste the adventure of going across the world, not knowing if you will ever get back and inform the rest about what is going on there... Imagining Vasco De Gama(discovered the way to India in 1498) or Pedro Alvarez Cabral(discover the way to Brazil in 1500)...To imagine how would it be to be part of their cruise....

interesting, letting your imagination go wild...how wild is your imagination????

how often do you let your mind fly away???

Willing to change...Or not?

Something has been bothering me for some time.

People around me(including myself), really close, that i interact with them on daily basis, people that i care about, have made me realize that changing your personality is not easy, no matter what the general opinion is.

I have this way of life, that when i interact with people that i like, or i like some part of their personality, the good parts from the people around me, and i try to incorporate it within me. i am really open to feedback and i use that feedback. Off course if i appreciate the quality. I am willing to change. To improve. To grow.

But this doesnt goes easy. It happened with myself, couple of my friends, and family that we notice a problem in the personality. And immediately as the feedback is received, you have the 'AHA' moment, and saying, "yes, i just realized that, and i would change".

But everything goes on in the way that it was before. and then you go with "why are you not changing when you know that you have to?", "how can you continue doing this?"

off course people tend to close and give up when they feel that they are personally "attacked". and nothing gets solved. no solution so far. just feeling angry or disappointed.

So i was quite annoyed by this. Cause i was doing the same thing. But after some time, i realized that the things that i really believed in, i really changed them. So why not other people can do that? why should i constantly challenge them when they dont want to change??? why should i do this to myself too???

And when i look back, i needed some 3-6 months to actually do that. Its wasnt a snap-shot change right away. Its only now that i can say that i feel comfortable with the change. that i really believe and stand for it.

So if we take people more easily, give them a chance, and enough time, that they would change.

that if you pressure them , they will feel intimidated, and wont be willing to change anymore. that doesnt mean that they dont want to change. it means that they are scared. that i was scared, from being to hard.

its better to understand, that we all need time. not that we dont want to change.

Without Bull-Shit. Scene 1. Second time.

I have been reading a lots of blogs lately. I enjoy reading blogs. Its kinda observing people, their lives, their reactions, thoughts, information, experiences...

I find it intriguing, cause everyone is writing with some different reason.

1) some of them to send a message to the rest of the world. sometimes being a smart ass but sometimes not!
2) some of them to express their feelings. sometimes exposing them selves, but sometimes not.
3) some of them to share their experiences. sometimes being objective and sometimes not.
4) some of them just because they are bored. sometimes its interesting, sometimes is not.
5) some of them to learn, unlearn, and relearn. sometimes doing it, sometimes not.
6) some of them to get feedback on their opinions. sometimes accepting it, sometimes not.
7) some of them to share what is going on in their life. sometimes describing it as it was, and sometimes not.

and i can go endlessly with this.

I started blogging a year ago, but i stopped after short time, cause i felt that the person that is writing the blogs is not really me. Its the person that i wanted other people to see.

This time i am starting to blog again. But this time without bullshit. I will give my best to be truthful to myself first, and to everyone else. I will give my best to avoid being a smart ass, to express how i feel, objectively to share my opinions, and to accept all the feedback and other opinions, while being interesting.

So here it goes,

Without Bull-Shit. Scene 1. Second time.

Action.
