Closer to heaven 2!

One of the best days ever!

In 10 AM the weather looked really crappy. probably it was Mateo's fault or something:). Me, 3 other Polish - Maja, Basia and Armand, and one Romanian Titel headed up to a journey that will be on of the best ever.

the weather just cleared up. after getting lost, missing couple of turns, and driving backwards, we finally reach Kratovo. That is one of those old towns that remind you that there was life before the computer and fast cars era. One of the oldest city on the Balcans was amazing experience. Sometimes i feel that civilization and fast life arent everything. being in this city reminded me of life without stress, enjoying the beauty of the nature, the hospitality and genuine openness of the people. we met this indian guy from NYC, working for the peace corps and staying there for quite a while who showed us the city, took us to the towers that were connected with underground passages. cool!
Hitting the road again. Going to Tsacev Kamen, an ancient observatory founded recently waiting to be confirmed by NASA scientists. After not knowing what to expect, very few people have been there, we ran into this ugly big rock in a middle of nowhere. Asked for directions, if it is really it, and the local shepard said yes. we had to go around, hike, climb the rocks...

the whole experience was...simply amazing. from the first impression being ugly to...a place where inside the huuuuge rock there is a place where sacrifices were done 4000 years ago, there was a throne built up in the rocks, markers for observing the stars, and there was a cave with a pool - all this inside of the rock. how, when, why no one knew of this till now???

and then my fantasy and imagination started to work(i watched too many SF movies as a kid:)... lets say that we are a tribe, and we have 20-30 years to spare, dont have anything smarter to do, so lets do something like this:). probably it was the Flinstones luxury hideaway :) they even had a something like a bar next to the pool, also a lay down pretty similar to a jacuzzi... and the environment around looked like there has been a huge river here (there was only a small one now). we were trying to imagine...to recreate how it looked like 4000 years ago.

we are on a schedule. two more places to go and no time to lose. drive. next place, the Stone Dolls village.

the legend says that there were two weddings to be. but the interesting thing was that the groom was the same, getting married with two different women, so it was a big secret. one of the wifes to be found out, broke the tradition of not seeing the groom before the wedding(cause its bad luck) and went to confront him. after he confessed the bride cursed everyone on the wedding to become stones.

so they did. when you go around the place you can see the bride and groom, the godfather, bridesmaid, guests, everything. like a real wedding. only difference is that people are stones. well, we couldnt get more info about this..but something for the next time.

sit in a car. late on schedule. we have to catch the sunset from the macedonian stonehenge.

driving fast. everyone hungry. sun is going down. police stop. speeding. talking and talking with policemen. getting out without a ticket. being lost. find the right road. being lost. being lost again. being lost. driving towards the heaven. arriving there. hiking up the cliffs. border police shows up from somewhere. passports please(what the hell???) we dont have them. talking it over. again talking it over. vouching for everyone. they take our info and let us go. wait for sunset. cold and really windy. beautiful sunset (changing colors). drive in border police 4x4 huge van.

Easter!

Happy Easter!

In Macedonia, as a part of the tradition, we do bunch of stuff. Paint eggs, have post, have family dinner, church traditions, do specific food, break with eggs etc.

But my favourite part is going in front of the main church and waiting for the bells to announce the Christs resurrection. there are like 100.000 people coming around the church, to hear the mass, also that is the place where you can see all your friends that you havent seen for years... also break with eggs with your friends... and the tradition is to lite up a candle, and keep it in your hand till burns out(so your wish will come true). then the little piece of candle that is left, you take it home with you, you put it under your pillow and go to bed.

the legend says that the person that you will dream of, will be your future husband/wife :)

this is why i love spending holidays in Macedonia. colorful tradition, lots of stories, lots of customs :)

going to bed now...just about to get to know who will i marry...:))))

Reasonable doubt!

I came to interesting conclusion and understanding about usage of reasonable doubt, something that our legal (Justice) systems world wide are having their foundation based on.

The idea is that, when and in order not to get your self proved wrong, to mislead or avoid some perception, you introduce a new momentum or do something in the whole situation that "can be possible", however highly unlikely in most cases, that can make the other side to have reasonable doubt about what are you talking about and to partially accept your wrong opinion or statement.

Here are couple of examples to show what i mean:

- in court, if there are two possible murderers, evidence against the two of them, but they were at the time being in two different places (so they werent able to do the crime both nor together), only one can be guilty, right?. because you cant prove which one did it, they both go free on base on reasonable doubt that the other did it. having in mind that only one of them did it.you never know for sure.
- in the 80's and 90's the people in the desert states in US where the army is having their bases, have seen a lots of UFO's(Unidentified flying object). so China, Russia and the other countries would have thought that US is testing some new technology, but the government released a lot of stories and shows and movies about UFO, spent Mill of $ in Hollywood just to give to the world reasonable doubt and to provide a possible answer. something for ppl to believe in. you never know for sure.
- the government is corrupted. the opposition party says they are spending tax money illegally. the government says, the opposition is doing cheap political marketing. how do you know who is right? they show some documents, but they can be fabricated. you never know for sure.
- best friends. you got betrayed or disappointed. the first time you say its not intentional, i know him/her, he wouldn't do that on purpose. imagine that its 4-5th time its happening. your mind will have reasonable doubt between is he/she good friend of mine or not. you never know for sure.
- we are married/relationship. i work late every night. you know that work is important to me. you leave me be. i come home late smelling like woman perfume, or i'm always moody, cranky and reckless. you ask why? i say i'm tired, you know how busy i am. you suspect that some thing's wrong, knowing me you say, no way, but it will always be on the back of your mind that i might be cheating! (lets say that i am). so you dont do anything, or you cant accuse me. cause you never know for sure.

examples like this are happening every day. you can ether go crazy trying to figure them out which you will hardly do, or you are waiting to see what will happen next. (who killed Kennedy - Oswald or someone else, is AIDS synthetically created and then lost control over it, is it Mary on the "last supper"?, is there God - or religion its old story to keep the poor quiet and under control?)

i think that the catch is that the human mind needs to be fed(or blindly believe) in the one that is less possible or less hurtful for yourself. unless you have a unbeatable fact that will open your eyes.

till now i always thought that this is somekind of governments plots. i see that nowadays, everyone is using it. including you and me.

sometimes i wonder how i could have been so stupid and didnt see it coming. sometimes the brain needs time to process it, accept it, make peace with it. and then move on. or to believe in it, until the truth hits you hard in the forehead. or never to find out.

tricky thing, that is really bothering me, trying to figure out the truth. knowing myself that i never accept the things as simple, i always need to figure it out.

how can you ever know for sure(the truth), with this way of (sometimes un-intentional) manipulation ????

well, sometimes its just fun and a good mind-strech. sometimes truth can be hurtful.

check this and the upper picture and the difference..can you see the difference in the UFO?
